Camp Counselor Roles

At Pocono Springs our Cabin Counselors are the MOST important people at camp – besides our campers of course! Each day our cabin counselors are working directly with our campers to keep them healthy and safe, helping them make memories and develop friendships to last a lifetime. Cabin counselors truly become the role models that campers look up to and will remember for the rest of their lives.

Cabin Counselors are divided into one of two separate roles: Cabin Specialist or Activity Specialist. While staff hired in both roles live in a cabin with their campers for the full 5 weeks of camp, there are distinctions between the day to day responsibilities of the two. Cabin Specialists travel with our youngest campers to all of their activities throughout the day and help support them during their activity instruction periods. Activity Specialists are the staff who teach or coach a specific Program Area that they are knowledgeable, trained and skilled in. Regardless of your Cabin Counselor role, you will undoubtedly create unique and meaningful relationships with all campers in your cabin.
